Jill Day, APRN, is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner able to treat patients across the lifespan and specializes in psychiatric medication management for children and adolescents ages 6 to 18. Jill has called Connecticut home since 1996 and has raised three children in the Nutmeg State. Her experiences in psychiatric nursing, school nursing, and women’s health led her to pursue a master’s degree to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. This allowed her to blend holistic care embedded in the nursing model and offer enhanced treatment through the medical model. Having completed her master’s degree from Fairfield University, Jill completed a prestigious and rigorous fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Institute of Living in Hartford, Connecticut. The fellowship provided Jill the opportunity to practice and work with children in many settings, including inpatient psychiatry, partial hospital/intensive outpatient (PHP/IOP) programs, residential mental health care, young adult services, interventional psychiatry, and outpatient psychiatry. Always striving to enhance patient care, she was accepted to the Yale School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program, with a focus on clinical care. Jill’s doctoral work focuses on providing gender-inclusive and equitable care for children and teens.
